At some appointments we may take x-rays of your teeth and jaws to perform a comprehensive examination. These allow us to check for any potential damage inside or between teeth that is not visible in an external examination. Digital (computerized) x-rays reduce radiation by 50% to 75% of conventional analog (film) x-rays. The image produced can also be enhanced with software, enabling the dentist to detect tooth decay in their early stages.
A CBCT scan produces a non-invasive three dimensional (3D) image of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and jaw bone in a single scan. This aids in dental implant planning, assessing wisdom teeth conditions, visualization of abnormally placed teeth, endodontic (root canal) diagnosis, and detection of dental cavities. Our practice offers immediate, low-radiation 3D image production which allows for superior diagnostics.
